How come no one reads blogs on Friday night?

Am I the only person who reads blogs and writes posts on Friday? I swear sometimes I feel like the only person on the internet from Friday noon until Saturday midday. Not that the weekends are so busy online either, but geeeez, this is primetime for me people!

Why primetime? Because there is no homework I have to nag anyone about, no dinner to cook on takeout night, and no one to talk to because my darling children and hubby watch Japanese anime TV shows every Friday night! I could watch Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto with them, but then I would have to stick a fork in my eye while slowly losing my mind.

So I surf the net instead, occasionally demanding someone take me out to Friday dinner once a month or look at me or talk to me. Sniff, sniff....

I'm beginning to think you really do have exciting lives and I'M the only one at home.

What are you all doing right this minute?

  1. Hey! Right at this minute, I am at home reading your blog. I have the high energy puppy, that trashes the place like a rock-star when we leave, so, yes...rather house-bound these days. Not v. exciting, to say the least. I am trying the EMDR on Wed. I'll let you know how she is. Glad you are feeling good.

  2. Oh so exciting let me tell you - I'm procrastinating cleaning the kitchen to make dinner. We are supposed to go to a party but I'm too tired.

  3. Most exciting ever-- sitting at the office, pretending to work, waiting for when it's time to go over to my sister's.
But I am going to a spa with friends tomorrow morning, so that is something to look forward to.

  4. Well... at this minute I am still chuckling over your "fork in the eye" comment. That cracked me up! Thank heavens my boys have left Yu Gi Oh behind now!

So... yep, here I am reading blogs on Friday night! Although Little T is now returning from batting practice so my family is going to expect me to come up with something for dinner. Why do they feel that eating is some sort of requirement to a happy life? :)

  6. Right here with you Aurelia reading your blog and quietly typing a response. I do read blogs and respond on Friday nights. Its my down time to give folks that I can't other times during the week. Yeah, I have no Friday night life and you know what - its okay to be here with you and all your blogging friends :)

  8. Oh yeah, so very exciting. Let's see. I whined and fussed until Little Man finally fell asleep then begged dh to run go get me a chocolate M&M shake from Carl's Jr. Nothing good on T.V. so, just like you, I am surfing the web, looking for something entertaining. You are not the only loser in the bunch!

  9. Right this minute, I am sitting on the couch, in my t-shirt and underwear, reading your blog and waiting for it to be bedtime. Trust me, my life is not exciting!

  10. I have an idea. . .

Since your Friday nights are pretty free, we should do a Friday night out soon!

Then we would both have something exciting to do!

  12. I think we should start a party line or something fun on Friday nights for those of us who surf other's blogs. What a life! lol

  13. My son and Mr. DD are watching The Incredibles (even though it's over an hour and a half past X's bedtime),but thankful I have a few minutes to catch up before the weekend when really! no one reads.

Plus I've had a few glasses of wine and feeling a little looped.

  14. Packing for my ab fab trip to St. Maarten't that begins at 4:00 freaking a.m. tomorrow. I'm not complaining and this packing for a trip is completely unusual for me. My SB does not like to travel so this is a HUGE treat. One year anniversary and all and I guilted him into it cause we didn't take a honeymoon. Normally, in my usual life when I'm not jetting off to the caribbean, I'm home checking blogs myself on a Friday night -- so you are definitely not alone. Enjoy your weekend. See you in a week -- You'll recognize me as the bronzed beauty over at Someone, PLEASE knock me up. Oh yeah, and I'll probably be knocked up cause you know, I'm on vacation -- I've heard it's the CURE for IF. HA!

  16. I try to read blogs each day, since I have a net addiction. But occasionally life gets in the way of my blog reading. Don't get excited, last night I fell asleep at 9pm, so I am catching up and commenting now.

You're not missing anything on Friday nights.

  17. Last night, I was drinking gin and tonics and watching Arrested Development on DVD. Glamorous!

This morning, I'm nursing a slight hangover from my whopping TWO-drink bender. At what point did I become an old lady?

  18. Hangin' with the husband is what I was doing. We were watching our Netflix rentals. Husband gets a bit agitated when I blog on Fridays, not sure why. He wants attention I suppose. Plus, I tend to drink on Fridays and that isn't all that conducive to making comments as they tend to come out all wrong and incoherent. But, I think of you while pretending to be interested in what's on the TV.

  19. Well, reading your post on Monday night...I went away for the weekend and got thoroughly behind! I do notice that traffic always drops off on the weekend.
