Friday photo post

Cute picture of Julius, hmm? I'm trying some news stuff out with the camera, on the manual setting, not sure what the hell I'm doing actually, but my model loves to pose anyway.

Political Note of the Day: Never ever fuck with a grieving parent. You will always lose. A dead child, (regardless of age at the time of death) will always trump a 1000 lawn signs.

I'm getting the kid's assessed next week, and I figure I'll write a bit about it, for those of you who do not know how the process works----and by the way, the school is a bit more helpful thank goodness!

This photo below was taken two weeks ago, and it has improved only slightly since. Still trying to make the kid do tummy time and jolly jumper time so that he will move his head around. As you can see this isn't just flathead, it's head stuff off to the side....crap. Anyway, we'll keep working on it, right?

  1. Super, SUPER cute!!! And I know nothing about the head thing. I know kids who've had it, but we never had to deal with more than just a bit of flat head in the back.

P.S. Look at those cute little wrists!

  2. What a beautiful boy!

M's head was like that. Never knew why because he did basically the same stuff as T did and T's head was perfectly round. The ped said not to worry, that he would grow out of it.

  7. Errrgh, so they'll take his measurements & possibly fit J in one of those oh-so-stylish helmets for a few wks... it's all work out!
[He is a living doll - but be forewarned when I figure out my digicam I will inflict pix of MY babydoll upon you!]

  8. Hey... his head matches our kids head!! :) We're in the process of doing some aggressive repositioning techniques - Mr. B was a whopping 1mm away from needing a helmet - he gets remeasured this week. Has he been checked for torticollis?

  9. Adorable!

Hadas's head was similar and when I asked about it the doc said that I should warn her not to get a crew cut when she's older... I guess it was before helmets(?) Anyway, if I were to put her hair in ponytails the hair is uneven, but aside from that you'd never know... When, about a year ago Elizabeth asked what people thought, I asked her and she said it doesn't matter to her in the least. She did, btw, have torticollis, but I'm not sure which came first.

  10. Love the pics. And yes, the head is uneven, but it's only been a couple of weeks and you're onto it, so I am choosing to remain optimistic that it will become a non-problem. Also good to hear Rachel's story.

As for politics, I am just shaking my head at a lot of this, especially the way the politics, rather than policies, seem to be eating up a lot of the debate.

  12. Your sweetie sure is sweet... but I really wanted to comment on the political note of the day, which is possibly really the most concise way of ending most of the arguments around loss that i get into...
