Some things are just more important

I had a bunch of serious and silly stuff to blog about today, like ranting about the Sopranos ending, or whining over the inevitable BFN I got on Saturday, and the period that arrived on Sunday. I have a bunch of memes to do, and pictures to post over at Picture Pages. Heck, I could rant about political stories or rave about the new stuff we bought on the weekend.

But none of that seems important compared to the struggle Krista is facing. Reality has been posting for her, since she was unable to blog after her new baby was born May 31, a baby achieved after a long struggle with IVF. Krista has a brain tumour, hopefully not malignant and is undergoing the first of two surgeries today to try to remove it. I am heartsick for her. She is a fellow Canadian, a fellow Liberal, and a fellow infertile, and an amazing woman, and this is just so completely unfair.

Please visit her and send her some love. These are the moments that really matter, aren't they?

  1. Thank you for the link to Krista's site. I will keep her and her family in my thoughts.

I'm sorry to see that you also got your own kind of bad news. Not a good weekend.

  2. Thanks for the link about Krista - I hope her surgery goes well.

I am sorry about the BFN. :(

And I guess I don't have to watch the Sopranos which I missed last night, since the re-cap was on the FRONT PAGE of today's Times, and to all accounts it was kind of a dog.

  3. so true :( Puts our crap into perspective!

    Sorry it was BFN :(

  4. sorry about BFN.. I am hoping and praying that Krista gets weel soon to enjoy her baby boy!

  5. Ahhh... perspective. Yes. That is just shocking to hear about your friend Krista. Absolutely shocking and I will definitely send prayers her way.

But, perspective does not mean you can't be completely bummed about your BFN. I'm sorry.

  6. I don't know Krista, but I'm very sorry to hear this. My understanding is that the hormones from pregnancy can cause tumors to grow more rapidly, so, unfortunately, this happens more often than one might think.

  7. I will update her blog as I get news from her family. I don't expect to hear anything for a few days.

I am sorry about the BFN. They really suck.

  8. So sorry to hear about your friend. I sincerely hope that the tumor is not malignant and that the least invasive and least difficult course of treatment proves successful.

    So sorry about the BFN.

  9. What bittersweet times, in the extreme, for Krista and her family. I will certainly keep them in my thoughts and send some love and hope to them.

As for our discussion over at Niobe's, I cry uncle over your better knowledge of when to privilege sentiment over interesting but extraneous facts.

    Sorry about the BFN.

  10. I still have to do your meme. I've only been tagged once, one would think that I could do it.

Thank you for Krista's link. I hope that the worst is behind her.

    Sending you some love on your BFN. {{{hugs}}}
